Philosopher Spinoza

 Enter Philosopher Spinoza:

I was watching a docuseries today that Neil Degrasse Tyson did about the cosmos and I learned about a Dutch philosopher in the 1600's who came up with an alternative to abrahamic religions. He was raised a jew by his parents who fled Spain due to the Spanish inquisition. He ended up separating himself from Judaism and writing a book about morals and ethics from his perspective on God. When I tell you, this is exactly how I understand God! The poor man was excommunicated, banished and died alone for his blasphemy. But, he never abandoned his philosophical position.

He believed that God was not a man, but that God was the essence of everything. And to understand God we need to try to understand how the universe works. I mean, it's a lot more complex than that, but that's the gist. Spinoza saw things the same way I do. I look forward to studying more about him.
